blog update

As you might have noticed, this blog has been largely inactive. It’s been…six/seven years since I started this blog? It was really a space for me to put down some of the thoughts that have been percolating in my head for the anime I watch. I’m very grateful for the community that has supported my work. Unfortunately, real life obligations as well as other fandom interests have caught a hold of me. Moved across the country, started school again. Got into new fandoms, back into writing fanfic and regular fiction. Anime will always be part of my life and I still keep an eye out every season for anything that looks promising (which is slim pickings these days but I’m excited for the Shaman King reboot. It feels like they’re giving it the FMA Brotherhood treatment so fingers crossed that this will be a successful adaptation.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh! content in particular, I still enjoy it ARC-V and VRAINS had their strong points and I found them mostly enjoyable for entirely different reasons. It’s a little early to tell with SEVENS but we’ll see.

I may or may not post occasionally in the future, since there’s so much good stuff in anime to talk about.

Until next time,

  1. Wishing you all the best, and good luck with school! It really is a major time suck. D: We’ll still be around to read your thoughts whenever you feel like posting something. 🙂

  2. You’re someone who got me back into reviewing, and you’re the one who has influenced me most while making my own card game based story, “Towers”. Because you look further when you watch duels, and you think, and you look, and you search, and everything. You’re not one of those saying, “Here’s the top ten, and uh… Well Kaiba versus Noah was pretty cool, so there.” You brought up the idea of the light of the future against the idea of staying in the past.

I would never have thought much about the symbolism in these games without you. I never would have thought too much more. Weirdly enough, Wrestling also helped with the storytelling within the match.

So I owe my whole card game writing style to you, and WWE, as weird as this is.

Maybe I’ll even be able to get your opinions on my works eventually?

I admit, I only follow the Yugioh content, I’m not an anime fan, but as soon as you start talking that best fights in 5D’s list, I’m all here.
